How We Sterilize Our Instruments
Every reusable instrument at Smile N Glamour goes through a rigorous four-stage sterilization process after each patient — before it’s stored, and before it ever enters your mouth. This process follows the sterilization standards recommended by the Indian Dental Association and is performed by trained staff, not left to chance.
Stage 1 — Pre-Cleaning & Rinsing
Immediately after use, instruments are rinsed to remove visible debris. Soaking in an enzymatic solution begins the breakdown of organic matter before the next stage.
Stage 2 — Ultrasonic Cleaning
Instruments are placed in an ultrasonic cleaner that uses high-frequency sound waves to dislodge particles from hard-to-reach surfaces — far more thorough than hand scrubbing alone.
Stage 3 — Inspection & Packaging
Clean instruments are inspected for damage or residue, then sealed in sterilization pouches. Each pouch is labelled with the sterilization date so nothing is ever used beyond its safe window.
Stage 4 — Autoclave Sterilization
Pouched instruments go through a high-pressure steam autoclave cycle — the gold standard in dental sterilization — which eliminates all bacteria, fungi, and viruses including heat-resistant spores. Autoclave performance is monitored with biological indicators to verify every cycle is effective.
Single-use items — needles, suction tips, gloves, and disposable covers — are never reused under any circumstances and are disposed of as clinical waste after each appointment.
